· Grants fund  educational programs, screening, treatment, as well as national research. 

· Grants are awarded each year to non-profit organizations such as local hospitals and community organizations

·  Twenty-five percent of the net proceeds raised by the Brainerd Lakes Affiliate fund national breast cancer research through the highly regarded Komen Research and Awards Program. 

· Partnerships with corporate sponsors and community organizations allow us to continue holding the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®.

The Brainerd Lakes Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure^® is one of 125 Affiliates around the world.  The Brainerd Lakes Affiliate  awards grants to the counties of Aitkin, Cass, and Crow Wing in Central Minnesota.
